(1) The rate of interest and the process of giving interest on the balance in the bank shall be as prescribed by the Ministry of Information and Communication on the recommendation of the committee. The Ministry shall give the information of the interest rate determined in this way to the Nepal Rastra Bank and publish it in the major newspapers published in Nepal for the information of the general public.

(4) The account holder must maintain his passbook in the post office within three months of the end of each financial year.
